What is email authentication?
We let you to set your own from email address in your email campaigns instead "Sendloop". However, it's quite difficult to prove that email is coming from the person who claims it. With the help of email authentication, you authorize Sendloop to send emails on behalf of you. This process will incredibly increase your inbox delivery rate because once email services check the "sender" of your emails, they will detect that Sendloop is an authorized service to send emails on behalf of you.
Email authentication is a little bit technical process but takes only a minute to setup. You will need to add two information into your domain DNS records.
In this guide, we will try to explain the process without any technical details. If you have any questions or need any assistance, don't hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to assist you.
SPF, Sender ID, DKIM/DomainKeys !?#!@@!?#
In short, you will need to know about two terms: Sender ID and DKIM/DomainKeys. We will do the rest for you. Sendloop handles the SPF for you automatically.
To help you more, Sendloop will generate the required information to add into your DNS records. You will just copy it from your Sendloop account and paste into your DNS records.
Unfortunately, configuring your DNS records is different for each ISP. We have explained the setup process for popular ISP's in this guide.
Benefits of email authentication
Almost all major ISP's like Hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL and Gmail checks email authentication settings for every single email received. Some ISP's are more tolerant but some of them take email authentication more seriously.
For example, Hotmail do not let improperly authenticated emails to arrive into inbox. It puts emails into spam folder or simply ignores them without warning.
Authorizing a domain in Sendloop
Authorization process will take only a minute. Follow these easy steps to complete:
Login to your Sendloop account
Click "Settings" link on the top right menu

Click "Email Authentication" link on the right menu

If this is the first time you are creating email authentication settings, instead of the list, you will see the create form.

Enter the domain name you are going to use in your from email addresses. For example, if you are going to send an email campaign from the "sales@acme.com", enter "acme.com" and submit the form.

Submit the form once you are done. Sendloop will create the required information you need to add into your acme.com DNS records.
You will be redirected to domain list page. In this page, you will see the list of domains you have submitted so far, and also you will see the verification status of your domains. Sendloop will monitor your domain DNS records and check if they are properly set for authorization.

To get the information generated for you, click on the domain and Sendloop will show you the information which needs to be added into domain DNS records:

There are two records you need to copy from this page. The first one is Sender ID and the second one is DKIM/DomainKeys. Copy these two records and update your domain DNS record.
That's all for the Sendloop side. Now, we will explain you how to add Sender ID and DKIM/DomainKeys authentication information to your domain DNS records.
Updating Domain DNS Records For Authorization
Go to your DNS management panel and edit the domain you wish to authorize. You will add two TXT records:
Sender ID TXT record
Copy the Sender ID TXT record from your Sendloop account (it's something like "v=spf1 mx ptr include:sendloop-1.com ~all") and paste into your TXT value field in your DNS page. Leave the TXT name field empty and submit the form.
DomainKeys/DKIM
Copy the TXT name value (it's something like "sl._domainkey") from your Sendloop account and then paste into TXT name field in your DNS page. Then copy TXT value (it's something like "k=rsa; t=y; p=MFwwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQ....AwEAAQ==") and paste into TXT value field in your DNS page. Submit the form.
Your DNS records will be updated. Some DNS providers can take up to 48 hours to update your records. Sendloop will monitor and check your authorized domain for a while. If we can not validate the authorization, a big red warning icon will displayed next to your domain in Sendloop. You can click "Verify Again" link to give one more chance.

If you still can not make your email authorization working, contact us. We will be happy to help you.
