You can easily publish a mail list subscription form on your profile (or fan page) pages. In this way, you can start collecting contact information from your fans and friends and send them trackable email campaigns.
Facebook integration can be done in two ways:
- Using Sendloop's Facebook application
- Using Facebook's Static FBML application
Using Sendloop's Facebook Application
We have prepared a Facebook application to make integration easier. With the help of Sendloop's Facebook app, you can easily place it on your profile or fan pages.
In order to add Sendloop's app into your Facebook fan page or profile page, follow these steps:
Login to your Facebook account
Go to Sendloop's Facebook application page
Click "Add To My Page" link
Click "Add To Page" button next to your fan page
Go to your fan page
Click "Edit Page" link
Find Sendloop.com application box and click "Edit" link
Enter your API key, Sendloop account URL and other required information based on your Sendloop account settings
- Sendloop API Key
- Copy your account API key from Integration > Facebook Tab.
- Sendloop Account URL
- Enter it in http://yourdomain.sendloop.com format. Replace "yourdomain" with your account sub-domain info.
- Introduction Message
- This is the message which will be displayed to your fans and visitors on the subscription form.
- Target Subscriber List ID
- To get the list ID, simply go to your Sendloop account, go into your subscriber list and click "Edit List Settings" link. You will see your List ID there.
- Name Custom Field ID
- To get the custom field ID for storing name, edit your custom field in the Sendloop account and get the ID from the URL.
Click "Save" button when you are done.
Go back to your fan page settings screen.
Find your Sendloop.com application box and click "Application Settings" link.
Click "Add" link next to "Box" and hit "Okay" button
Click "Box" tab on your fan page and you will see your list subscription box.
If you want to move subscription box from "Boxes" tab to "Wall" tab, simply click the pencil icon and then click "Move To Wall Tab".
Using Facebook's Static FBML Application
Facebook has a very useful application which is named "Static FBML". In order to add it into your profile page, follow these steps:
Login to your Facebook account
Go to Static FBML application page
On the application page, click "Add to my page" link
Click "Add to page" link next to the fan page you wish to add
Hit "Close" button
Go to your fan page
Click "Edit Page" link
Find the FBML application box and click "Edit Settings" link
You will now see "Box Title" and "FBML" fields. Enter a title for the box such as "Subscribe To My List".
Then go to your Sendloop account, go into one of your subscriber lists, click "Website Integration" link and generate the subscription HTML code.
Copy the generated subscription HTML code into "FBML" field and customize the HTML code based on your needs. You can add CSS, images, text, anything you want.
Once you are ready, click "Save Changes" link.
Now, go to your Sendloop fan page and click "Boxes" tab. You will see your subscription form box over there.
In order to make it a tab (which is easier for your fans to find), click "+" sign and click on the title of your subscription form box.
